MAYAN WONDERS SAFARI

This full day safari takes you to Muyil a very important archaeological site and trade point for the Mayans and one of the best preserved jungles in Quintana Roo.

The journey begins with a Mayan ceremony performed by a local shaman, and continues at the magical archaeological site of Muyil. We go on exploring the jungle until we arrive at Muyil lagoon. From there we take a boat and explore a 12 km canal, where you can jump off the boat and just let yourself float in the warm transparent waters of the lagoon. We finish this Safari with a great Mexican meal.

We start this amazing trip by visiting a Mayan Shaman trained in the traditional ways of his Mayan ancestors. Learn the secrets of Mayan traditional medicine and take part of the purification ceremony.

Discover one of the oldest Mayan archaeological sites, Muyil. The most important building in this site is “El Castillo” a 17 meter tall pyramid with rounded edges. Dare to climb it and admire the lush jungle from atop.

Walk down a mesmerizing jungle trail. Enjoy one of the best preserved sites in Quintana Roo were unique wildlife thrives. End this amazing jungle walk in the observation tower we you can admire the breathtaking view of the lagoon and the jungle.

A boat ride will take you through the ancient Mayan canals that join the crystalline waters of Muyil and Chunyaxche Lagoons. We stop and visit a little Maya ruin in the middle of the lagoon and after that a refreshing swim in the canal. Just let yourself float away with current!
